St. Teresa of Avila

St. Teresa of Avila (1515 - 1582)
St. Teresa of Avila was a Spanish Carmelite Nun. She was a very smart, beautiful and gifted woman who gave her life entirely to God. She was a mystic, or a person who experienced God supernaturally. When she joined the Carmelite Order, the nuns there were not praying much. She reformed the Order, turning it into a strict house of unceasing prayer. The Church continues to benefit from the prayers of the Carmelites today. She is the patron saint of Spain. Her feastday is on 15 October. Visit the Happy Saints store.
