St. Francis De Sales (1567-1622)
St. Francis De Sales was the Bishop of Geneva in Switzerland. He lived in a time when the church was divided between different groups who taught contradicting ideas. He was a great preacher and writer who brought many people back to the Catholic Church. His writings have helped many grow in holiness and spirituality. He is the patron saint of writers and journalists because he made extensive use of flyers and books. His feast day is on 24 January.
