How Do You Introduce the Eucharist to Your Kids?

Explaining the Eucharist to children is not always easy. How do you tell them that the white piece of bread is the Body of Christ? What can you show to prove that Jesus is truly present in the Communion we receive every Sunday at Mass? Are you yourself convinced about the Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament?

God certainly understands our problems with this! That's why He gives us EUCHARISTIC MIRACLES throughout the centuries! There is the famous Miracle of Lanciano, where the Eucharist literally transformed into real Flesh and Blood before the eyes of a doubting priest. Or what about the fascinating story of how St. Clare of Assisi dispelled invaders by simply exposing the Blessed Sacrament? If you are amazed by these miracles, your kids will be astounded!

Let the Eucharistic Miracles come alive for your kids and your family with the True Tales of the Eucharist Picture eBooks and Books! The Miracles of Lanciano, St. Clare and Seefeld (Austria) are retold in full color illustrations and poetic yet humorous narration, giving you and your kids entertaining and fascinating reads.

The books and ebooks in the True Tales of the Eucharist series include:

These fully illustrated, full color picture story books make GREAT GIFTS FOR BAPTISM, FIRST COMMUNIONS, BIRTHDAYS, CHRISTMAS and any special occasions! They are also GREAT RESOURCES FOR CCD CATECHISM CLASSES, SUNDAY SCHOOLS and CHILDREN'S LITURGIES!

Children love to read them again and again!

The True Tales of the Eucharist series is available in PDF paperback formats here. Each digital ebook edition includes coloring pages of the entire tale:

Happy Saints Memory Match Game

Another fun idea for the family! Prudence Zavala sent me this picture of a Happy Saints Memory Match Game she made for her kids. She says:

"I made a memory match game for my kids using Happy Saints images. I printed the cards on scrapbook paper that has a print on one side and plain white on the other. I cut them out and laminated them. They are great for church and times when the kiddos need to play by themselves. The added bonus is that if we lose a piece, I can just print out another. My kids love them because the saints are so cheerful and colorful."

Thanks, Prudence!

These cards are made using printables from the Happy Saints ebooks available here:

Reviews of Way of the Cross eBook

Here are two reviews of the Happy Saints Way of the Cross eBook by the Koala Bear Writer and Team Whitaker!

From Bonnie, the Koala Bear Writer:
Walk into any Catholic Church and you'll see the Stations of the Cross arranged around the sanctuary.  In our church, the Stations feature near life-size figures in gold sketching against a black background.  So our girls are familiar with these pictures, but it's hard to explain each Station in terms that an almost-five-year-old and a two-year-old would understand.  So when I saw that Victor Teh's new eBook The Way of the Cross, I thought this would be the perfect chance to teach our daughters this beautiful tradition. ... read more

From Kathryn of Team Whitaker:
Victor has crafted another gem, The Way of the Cross, just in time for Lent. He has colored posters, coloring sheets, badges (square and circle) as well as prayer cards. Here’s how we’re using it and loving it. Going to Stations of the Cross on a Friday night at 7pm just isn’t feasible during this chapter of life. Well, I mean we could go, but then I’d want to poke out my eyeballs. We’re winding down and going to bed at 7pm. So, we’ll be using these posters to fashion our own homemade stations ... read more
