Bl. Miguel Pro (1891 – 1927) was a Jesuit Priest from Mexico during a time when Catholics were persecuted there. He would secretly visit them to celebrate Mass, hear confessions and help them. As a result, the Mexican government wanted to arrest him. They finally did so by falsely accusing him of trying to murder their president. As Bl. Miguel was put to death, he bravely raised his hands in a cross posture and shouted ‘¡Viva Cristo Rey!’ or ‘Long live Christ the King!’ His feast day is on 23 November.
