St. Scholastica (480 - 547) was the twin sister of St. Benedict, founder of western monasticism. St. Scholastica herself founded a monastery nearby St. Benedict's. They would meet only once a year, spending their time talking about God. Once, when St. Benedict was leaving, she begged him to stay longer. He declined, so she prayed to God Who sent a thunderstorm so he could not leave! That was the last time they met because St. Scholatica died a few days later. She is the patron saint of nuns. Her feast day is on 10 February.
