St. Patrick

St. Patrick (c. 400AD) came from a rich Roman-British family and was kidnapped by pirates to be sold as a slave in Ireland. He escaped years later but returned to tell the Irish about Jesus, using simple things like the Shamrock leaf to explain about the Holy Trinity! St. Patrick became Ireland's first Bishop, leaving a legacy for the island to become the great center of Catholic faith and mission for centuries. His feast day is on 17 March.
