St. Maria Goretti

St. Maria Goretti (1890 - 1902) was a young Italian girl who became one of the youngest saints in the Catholic Church. At age 11, she was killed while resisting a young man who was forcing himself upon her. Before her death, she forgave her murderer who repented of his sins later and lived in a monastery, doing good works. St. Maria is the patron saint of youth and purity. Her feast day is on 6 July.
