St. Rita and the Fruit of Goodness

Happy Feast Day of St. Rita of Cascia!

There is much to learn from this saint about living out the Goodness of the Spirit. What is goodness? It is our desire to do all that is good in God's Eyes, and our rejection of bad things, sin and evil.

St. Rita of Cascia lived out the Fruit of Goodness when she stopped her sons from avenging her husband’s murder, making peace with their enemies instead. Later, as an Augustinian Nun, God placed a thorn on her head as she desired to suffer like Jesus. She offered her pain for the good of others.
