The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

'And it happened that, as Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. And she cried out with a loud voice and said: 'Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.' ' Luke 1:41-42

Happy Feast of the Pentecost!

The Descent of the Pentecost

"When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim." Acts 2:1-4

St. Rita and the Fruit of Goodness

Happy Feast Day of St. Rita of Cascia!

There is much to learn from this saint about living out the Goodness of the Spirit. What is goodness? It is our desire to do all that is good in God's Eyes, and our rejection of bad things, sin and evil.

St. Rita of Cascia lived out the Fruit of Goodness when she stopped her sons from avenging her husband’s murder, making peace with their enemies instead. Later, as an Augustinian Nun, God placed a thorn on her head as she desired to suffer like Jesus. She offered her pain for the good of others.

St. Cristóbal Magallanes, martyr from Mexico

Today is the feast day of St. Cristóbal Magallanes. St. Cristóbal (1869 – 1927) was a Mexican priest during a time when his government wanted to destroy the Catholic faith. He built schools, shops and power plants to help the people in his parish, especially the poor. When his old seminary was shut down, he started another one. He was falsely accused of inciting rebellion and was arrested on his way to celebrate Mass one day. He was executed together with many other priests. His feast day is on May 21.

The Story of St. Bernardino, Preacher & Logo Designer

Today is the feast day of St. Bernardino of Siena. St. Bernardino (1380 – 1444) was an Italian Franciscan Priest. As a young man, he ran a hospital in Siena, caring for plague victims. As a priest, he went all over Italy preaching about sin and repentance. He had a weak and coarse voice but his simple messages reached deep to people’s hearts. The Ascension of the Lord

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord

"As they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, "Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven."' Acts 1:9-11

The Story of Bl. Imelda Lambertini, Patron Saint of First Communicants

Today is the feast day of Bl. Imelda Lambertini, an 11-year old girl of extraordinary faith in the Eucharist. Bl. Imelda Lambertini was born in 1322, coming from a well-known family in Bologna, Italy. As a little child, she loved prayer and the Mass. When she was five, she asked to receive Jesus in the Eucharist but she was considered too young to do so. When she was eleven, as she knelt to pray during Mass, a miraculous Eucharistic Host appeared over her head. Seeing this, the priest let her received Holy Communion and she died after that while still in joyful prayer. Bl. Imelda is the patron saint of First Communicants. Her feast day is on May 12.
